The Veterans Outreach Center has 35 years' experience providing services to veterans. It is the oldest community-based
not-for-profit "veterans helping veterans" organization in the U.S.
Visiting Nurse Service of Rochester and Monroe County, Inc., provides a variety
of services such as the Meals On Wheels program, Hospice and Palliative Care
services for adults and children, nursing, therapy, adult day care, and much
more, to people of all ages.
The VOC offers transitional housing, mental health services, educational and
vocational training programs, and other supportive services for veterans and
their families; and provides referrals to community resources for substance
abuse treatment, domestic violence issues, post-traumatic stress disorders,
parenting skills, and other personal development and empowerment programs.

Volunteers Needed
June 14 (Flag Day): volunteers are needed to remind the public about
this patriotic holiday by offering handheld American flags in exchange for contributions
on behalf of the Veterans Outreach Center. Individual volunteers and groups
(schools, Scouts, etc.) are welcome. Many shifts (typically 2 to 3 hours) and
locations (city, suburban, etc.) are available. Please call 546-1081 for more information.
Operation Welcome Home (OWH): volunteers are needed to help greet and thank returning servicemen and servicewomen. For
