The Epilepsy Foundation's 26th Annual Chocolate Ball - Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester-Syracuse-Binghamton
Saturday, February 11, 2012, from 5:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at
the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, 123 East Main Street, Rochester 14604.
The Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester-Syracuse-Binghamton will host "Midnight in the Garden," the 26th annual Chocolate Ball, at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
This magical evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a champagne, cocktail, and chocolate reception where guests sample a dozen award-winning chocolate creations and bid on items in a silent auction.
The highlight of the event comes after dinner with a live auction for the many unique chocolate cakes created exclusively for the Chocolate Ball by more than a dozen Rochester-area pastry chefs.
The annual fundraising event benefits the Epilepsy Foundation’s programs and services to approximately 10,000 individuals in the area with epilepsy and related disorders (including traumatic brain injury and developmental disability).

United Way Day of Caring - PRALID (People Rebuilding and Living in Dignity)
Monday, March 5, 2012 through Thursday, May 10, 2012.
The annual United Way Day of Caring - Rochester's single largest volunteer event - is taking place on Thursday, May 10, 2012. Every year the United Way organizes this event to provide local Rochester corporations with an opportunity to send out volunteer teams into the community to assist local nonprofits for a day. Beginning March 5, Volunteer teams and individuals can register online and choose a project they would like to support.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester-Syracuse-Binghamton will kick off GardenScape 2012 with an exclusive preview party of this spectacular flower and garden show on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Monroe County Fair and Expo Center in Henrietta. The preview party, a fundraiser for the Epilepsy Foundation of Rochester-Syracuse-Binghamton, a nonprofit human services agency serving the needs of area residents affected by epilepsy and related disabilities.

Guests of A Taste of Spring will stroll through dozens of amazing gardens and enjoy a reception complete with heavy hors d’oeuvre, wine, beer, and cocktail tasting, desserts, and live music -- one day in advance of the show’s public run from March 15-18.
Tickets for A Taste of Spring are $50 and this includes entry into the gardens as well as the food and beverage tasting. The Epilepsy Foundation will hold a silent auction of garden and home-related items; a raffle for a beautiful handmade quilt from the Quilt Room in Penn Yan, NY; and will sell fresh flowers at the preview event and at the show itself.

The gala – black tie optional – will begin with a complimentary cocktail reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. An elegant evening of dinner, dancing and entertainment will start at 7:30. Proceeds will benefit the programs and services of Catholic Family Center, and Christine Whitman will be honored with the 2012 CFC Award. A multidisciplinary training conference for professionals who work with children. Girls on the Run of Greater Rochester 5K Run - Girls on the Run of Greater Rochester

The run will have over 300 girls in 3rd through 8th grade who have been participating in a 10-week after-school running program that encourages girls to develop self-respect and healthy, joyful lives.
