The Andrews Center was established over 30 years ago under the sponsorship of the Sisters of Mercy and is a special service home providing 24-hour care for children who cannot be placed in typical foster care due to their multiple needs. These children, ranging from infancy to 12 years of age, suffer from physical and emotional disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome; an inability to see, walk, or speak; and various neurological disorders. Compounding their hardship, most have also known abuse or neglect. At Andrews Center we provide a warm and loving home life, as well as professional care for their physical and/or emotional problems. We provide a stable, nurturing environment for children while their family units are trying to be restored.
The Andrews Center also has an Outreach Program which allows them to remain connected to former children during times of need. They are able to provide these children and their families with items such as food, clothing, school supplies, and household items.
