Search Tips

The Wishbook web site uses the Atomz Site Search service. These tips are based on information from Atomz.

To get better search results:

CHECK SPELLING
Make sure your search terms are spelled correctly.

USE MULTIPLE WORDS
Multiple-word queries will return more specific results. For example, children's clothing will return more relevant results than just clothing.

USE SIMILAR WORDS
The more similar words you use in a search, the more relevant your results will be.
Example: couch    sofa   living room furniture.

USE THE ASTERISK * AS A WILDCARD CHARACTER to expand the number of matches for a particular request.
For example, searching for auto* (asterisk after the word) will find the words automatic and automobile.
Searching for *her* (asterisks before and after the word) would find the words here, whether, together, gathering, and any other word that contains the letters her.

USE QUOTATION MARKS to find words that must appear next to each other; for example, "garden tools"
Without quotes, the search results will include all listings with the words garden or tools.

More Search Secrets:

CAPITALIZATION CAN MATTER
Lowercase words will match any case. For example, gift will return all listings containing the words gift, Gift, and GIFT. Typing Gift, however, (with a capital G) will instruct the search engine to look only for the capitalized word.

USE PLUS (+) OR MINUS (-)
You can use a plus sign when your search term or phrase must appear in the search results. Use a minus sign to indicate undesirable term(s). The plus sign tells the search engine that a certain word or phrase is required in the search results, and a minus sign indicates that a word or phrase must be absent in the search results.

Note: To use this hint, the phrase must be contained within quotation marks. Leave no spaces between the plus or minus sign and the term. Example: +"pet" -"dog" will find listings that include the word pet, but do not include the word dog.
