RSVP of Monroe County

Lead With Experience! RSVP provides volunteer opportunities for people 55 and older that effectively use their life experiences as well as enrich the quality of their lives through volunteering. RSVP recruits and places volunteers in rewarding activities that address critical needs in the community. Mileage reimbursement is available for participants, and volunteers are covered with supplemental insurance while on duty. RSVP is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service, and is sponsored locally by Lifespan.

Volunteers Needed

Drivers for elderly and non-driving neighbors to medical appointments, errands, etc.
Tutors/Mentors to work with elementary-school-age children in several areas and various schools in
Monroe County.
Non-medical caregivers for frail elderly and disabled individuals.
Drivers for home-delivered meals.
Advocacy/Ombudsmen.
Financial and medical insurance counselors.
Assist with prescription medication reviews (episodic).
Tax assistants/counselors.
Teach older citizens to reduce the risk of falling.
Many other opportunities throughout Monroe County.
