PRALID’s mission is to provide opportunities in Western New York for individuals with traumatic brain injuries, developmental disabilities, and/or people eligible for nursing home care that choose to live in the community. Our services are designed to provide skill building, advocacy, and protective oversight that promote meaningful life choices while preserving an individual’s dignity and independence.

Volunteers Needed

Administrative Office Assistant: answer the phone, receive faxes, handle outgoing and incoming mail, generate photo ID badges for new hires, help with archiving.

Public Relations/Marketing Assistant: assist with fundraising events, grant research, networking, photography, mailing lists and database building (Microsoft Access), bulk mailings, and producing the agency's internal and external newsletters (Microsoft Word, Publisher).

Assist Individuals with Disabilities: work directly with individuals with disabilities by forming a teaching group in our Day Habilitation Program, using a topic of interest to both the volunteer and the service participants. The volunteer would be responsible for leading/teaching the group. Two individuals could also work as a team in this area.

All volunteers will attend selected training courses held at the beginning of each month. A PPD (Tuberculosis skin test) and background check must also be given to all volunteers. All of these are provided through PRALID free of charge.
