Provides access to primary health care, dental care, and advocacy services to the uninsured and underserved. Also provides WIC evaluations, referral services, legal services, and volunteer income tax assistance. Support services include AA & NA meetings, and facilitated enrollment for Child and Family Health Plus.

Volunteers Needed

Receptionists: to greet our clients when they come into the Center or call on the phone to access the medical, dental, and advocacy services offered at the Center. Hours: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
4 hours every week or every other week. Training provided.

Chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, to complement our primary care.

Doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses: to provide primary health care for our uninsured sisters and brothers. 2 to 4 hours, once or twice a month.

Dentists, dental assistants, and dental hygienists: to provide dental care for our uninsured sisters and brothers. 2 to 4 hours, once or twice a month.

Lawyers: general practice, legal consultation, creditors' rights issues, family law issues and/or fair hearing representation: to provide legal advice/assistance for individuals lacking the funds to access these services. Hours to fit your schedule.

Psychotherapists: to provide counseling for clients with mental health needs. 2 to 4 hours, once or twice a month.

Social Workers: to assist and empower clients in meeting basic needs. 2 to 4 hours, once or twice a month.

Dietitians/Nutritionists: to provide diet/nutrition instruction for clients with diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and/or other diet-related health concerns. 2 to 4 hours, once or twice a month.

Health educators: to provide individual or group instruction on health and wellness issues. 2 to 4 hours, once or twice a month.

Building and grounds assistance: repairmen/handyman, painters, plumbers, electricians, grounds keepers to assist with ongoing care and/or unplanned needs. Routine monthly upkeep 2 to 4 hours per month. On-call as needed.

Committee members: to serve on one of our committees: development, buildings and grounds, volunteer events and one-time special events. Time commitment would probably not exceed 2 to 4 hours a month.
