The Children's Center is a "good place for children"
and their families. Originally designed as a safe haven for children whose parents
are attending court, the mission of the center, under the direction of the University
of Rochester, has grown to include three functions: (1) to provide a physical
and emotional safe haven for the child while their parents are in court; (2)
to provide a model for early learning; and (3) to provide a setting in which
children and families can be linked to needed services.
